After 7 amazing years with the Student Ministries team at High Desert Church, a community with over 8,000 active participants, we moved on to Kern County to be a part of the re-plant at Olive Drive Church in Bakersfield. Olive Drive’s ministry plan included 3 unique worship venues under my leadership.

In late 2010, it was clear that the church’s financial situation would not support our staff and ministry goals and drastic cuts needed to be made. It was my privilege to volunteer to be among the staff let go and hand my ministry off to my interns and volunteers for the interim season ahead.

I’m a worship leader, but I’m not just another “music guy”. I feel called as a pastor to be active in discipleship, leadership, building relationships and contributing to the team wherever I can. I’m not looking to land somewhere and just do “my thing”, but instead, I want to be a vital and growing part of an organization. I am sold out on local church ministry and the church’s role in living out the transforming power of the Gospel in the city. I’m most passionate about bringing God glory though excellent expression of music, the production of worship services and the development of new leaders. Moreover, I believe that for the church, worship through music should not just be an “in house” or weekend thing; but should also be viewed through the lens of outreach, community and our mission to engage culture and reach the lost.
